Sweet Shot Tuesday

My happy beachy place on Sanibel Island, FL. I will dream of this place while sitting in my office chair, ordering TPS reports.

My best friend is right. I have too much crap in my bag. It’s a big bag.

*stolen, a.k.a. ’surreptitiously lifted from a doctor’s office, restaurant, or my mom’s house’

Sweet Shot Tuesday 04.20.2010

It’s planting time once again (hallelujah!) and I took my image for this week’s Sweet Shot Tuesday (a photography linky created by Darcy over at My3Boybarians) in my garden on Saturday as I was putting onion sets into the ground. The sun was high, and I lay on my tummy to get this shot. I love the beautiful contrast of the dark earth and the golden onion seeds. Soon we will slice into homegrown yellow onions and place them atop hamburgers fresh off the grill!

Shameless explotation of my child, all for a good laugh

This is my child. Her emotions are ever-changing. She cries easily. She laughs easily. Sometimes simultaneously.

Today I managed to capture the full range of her emotions, all because I asked her to please stop farting on my leg and instead go to the bathroom and try to poop. Pooping does not come easily for her. For some reason, my girls are perpetually constipated, while my boy can crap on command. Recently, we have had to incorporate “remedies,” a.k.a. suppositories, to get the poop to make an appearance. She really hates this. Who wouldn’t?

She’s also going to really hate me when she’s 13 and realizes I splashed a blog post about her plugged-up little self all over the Interwebs. Oh well. She’ll still love me when I let her set up a Facebook account upon which she’ll tell the world how stupid I am.

World, meet my third-born.

Sweet Shot Tuesday 04.13.2010

My image for this week’s Sweet Shot Tuesday (a photography linky created by Darcy over at My3Boybarians) was taken during a walk around the pond near my house. The ducks and geese have all returned from their warm winter retreats, and I’m waiting anxiously for mid-May when fuzzy goslings and ducklings will hatch, and then toddle around while their parents take continuous roll call. Until then, the daddies play the role of protector while the mommies roost atop their nests. These two were having a little chat, about parenting jitters I think, clearly not realizing instinct will take over and everyone will be just fine.

My image for this week’s Sweet Shot Tuesday (a photography linky created by Darcy over at My3Boybarians) so perfectly captures the bubbly personality of my subject. I love to shoot with natural light … it’s so much easier. Aside from cropping, I didn’t edit this photo at all!
